The Simple Trick Behind Every Standout Banquet Table: Glassware

A closer look at two of my favorite versions of this setup:

Sometimes the most elegant details are also the simplest. For this banquet table, the whole look starts with one piece: a simple tall glass vase — something you can find at almost any wholesale flower shop. Fill it with hydrangeas and willow branches (real or artificial both work beautifully), and you've already got a table that feels intentional and full.

From there, it's the small touches that take it from simple to standout. I hung a few crystal teardrops from the vase to catch the light, and added votive candles around the base to bring warmth and a little sparkle once the sun goes down.

The real magic touch, though? Color. The vase and florals can go in almost any direction you like — soft blush, deep jewel tones, all-white — and that one choice shapes the entire feeling of the table.

The look below features a deep blue Crincle Taffeta table cloth and gold sequence table runne from CVlinen.

For the green tablecloth table set up below, I found the vase at a wholesale flower shop, the tablecloth (Crinkle Taffeta) in blue, and paired it with a gold sheer table runner for a little shimmer running down the center, are both from CV Linens.

Almost everything else on both tables — the small accent pieces, candle holders, and finishing touches — came from Amazon and the LA Fashion/Party District, which is honestly a gem of a place if you're the crafty type and want to design or DIY your own decor. Blocks and blocks of stores with everything you could possibly need.

It's proof you don't need an elaborate setup to make a real impression. Just the right height, a little light, and one well-chosen color story.
